NASA initiated the National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program, also known as Space Grant, in 1989. Space Grant is a national network of colleges and universities. These institutions are working to expand opportunities for US citizens to understand and participate in NASA’s aeronautics and space projects by supporting and enhancing science and engineering education, research and public outreach efforts. The Space Grant national network includes over 850 affiliates from universities, colleges, industry, museums, science centers, and state and local agencies. These affiliates belong to one of 52 consortia in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Missouri Space Grant Consortium (MOSGC)
The vision of the Missouri Space Grant Consortium is to foster STEM education, research, and outreach, specifically aerospace engineering and science, in Missouri. Missouri Space Grant strives to create, develop, and promote programs that support our vision and reflect NASA’s strategic interests, and encourage cooperation and collaboration between academia, NASA centers, industry, and state and local governments. A special focus of MOSGC is to reach out to underrepresented minorities and underserved communities and encourage them to participate in the opportunities offered by MOSGC. To increase MOSGC footprint in Missouri, special opportunities are made available for K12 students and teachers.
